On October 1^st 2009, our offices were acquired by William Pitt Real Estate, LLC headquartered in Norwalk, CT. They are one of the largest Sotheby's International Realty Affiliates in the world and they bring a whole new level of marketing sophistication to our offices. The Sotheby's International Realty flag has flown in Litchfield County since 2002 when the Washington Depot office opened in February of that year with an exceptional group of associates headed by Seymour Surnow. Over the ensuing years that original group has grown to 45 full time associates now located in three offices; Salisbury being the second office to open in 2003 (which was moved to Lakeville in 2009 after acquiring Borden Realtors) and the Kent office which opened in 2007 after the acquisition of Todd Cole Realty.

On October 1^st, 2009 the William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty organization headquartered in Norwalk, CT purchased the ownership rights to the Litchfield County offices of Sotheby's International Realty. Our offices were subsequently re-christened as Litchfield Hills / Sotheby's International Realty in recognition of the region we serve and the successful track record we have established.
