The peaceful town of Canaan is located in Northern Litchfield County and is the second smallest town in Connecticut. Also known as Falls Village, nearly a third of its open space is dedicated to conservation. Housatonic Valley Regional High School which serves six towns in the Northwest corner of the County is located here. There are many outdoor recreational opportunities including the Housatonic River and the Appalachian and Mohawk Trail. One can't resist the legendary acoustics and views of the gardens and hills from every seat at the Music Mountain, the legendary summer performance center where one can hear chamber music and jazz in air conditioned comfort all summer season.
